When connecting to SCSM2016 from an SCSM Remote console, accessing the Provance ITAM 2016 functionality is disrupted. This issue can reveal itself in several ways.

1) Attempting to open the Provance Administration Settings will cause the following error to be displayed:

Message: A required resource could not be found.

 

System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Provance.Logging.Resources, Version=3.5.20.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

File name: 'Provance.Logging.Resources, Version=3.5.20.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'

   at Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.UI.SdkDataAccess.ConsoleTaskHandler.DoTask(IList`1 navigationNodes, NavigationModelNodeTask task, List`1 parameterList)

   at Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.UI.SdkDataAccess.ConsoleTaskHandler.DoTask(IList`1 navigationNodes, NavigationModelNodeTask task)

 

2) Attempting to access any of the Provance Gridviews (All Computer Assets, All General Assets etc) will result in no objects being returned but a yellow bar across the top of the gridview will be displayed

 

Workaround:

Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the C:\Users\administrator\AppData\Local\Microsoft\System Center Service Manager 2010\supportr201-sm.redgiant.provance.com\3.5.20.0 folder

 

Open the en folder to find the file ProvanceLoggingResource.dll.  Copy the file ProvanceLoggingResource.dll and paste it one folder up into the C:\Users\<logged on user>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\System Center Service Manager 2010\<SCSM Management Server>\3.5.20.0 folder.

 

Closing and reopening your SCSM Remote console Should resolve the issue.
