Problem:

Provance 2014 Updated DLL’s not being updated on Remote Console computers

Applies to: SCSM 2012 R2 and Provance 2014 before release 30.04069.0

On occasion it may be necessary to clear the SCSM Remote Console cache. This might occurr when an update has been applied to the SCSM Server, but the updated Dlls are not automatically updated on the remote console when SCSM is launched.

Root Cause:

A flaw was found in the localization code that prevented Dlls from being properly updated on the remote console, after a Provance update was applied to the SCSM Management Server.

Resolution:

Updating to Provance 2014 CU4 HF6 (3.0.4069.0) or higher will resolve the issue. Occasionally it may be necessary to clear the SCSM Console cacahe on the remote console computer, as well.

To clear the SCSM remote console cache:

On the remote console machine:

  1. Navigate to the C:\Users\<current User\AppData\Local\Microsoft\System Center Service Manager 2010.
    • You’ll find a folder named for your SCSM Management Server as well as a number of TypeCache... .bin and .hash files.
  2. Ensure the  SCSM Console is closed.
  3. Delete the contents of the C:\Users\<current User\AppData\Local\Microsoft\System Center Service Manager 2010 folder.
