Problem:

User experience's interface anomalies while connected to the SCSM Management Server (directly or via RDP). Pulldown lists do not open, Calendars for Calendar Controls display in the top left corner of the screen, Border controls overwrite their titles, etc.

 Root Cause:

Desktop Experience and Windows Themes have been installed on the SCSM Management server.

Resolution:

Remove the Theme and Desktop Experience as follows:

  1. Remove the theme.
  2. Select the Windows Default Theme.
  3. Remove the Desktop Experience:

Open a PowerShell as an Administrator and run the following command:

Get-WindowsFeature Desktop-Experience | Uninstall-WindowsFeature

  1. Set your desktop background back to Picture location: Solid Colors.
  2. Reboot the server.
